What is MIO WADO™?

MIO WADO™ is a set of functions for developers (API), which permits PACS access from Web environments (PHP, Java) without the need of implementing or developing DICOM services.
MIO WADO™ offers a set of Web services for the realization of different types of consultations to PACS, as well as for the retrieval of the images themselves.
The main functionalities of MIO WADO™ include:

- Receipt of the patient identifier, or search parameter, by http/Web service from HIS or hospital Clinical Record

- Complete DICOM services for the realization of different types of consultations to PACS and for the retrieval of the images of the selected patient.

- XML messaging for the delivery, to any information system, of the consultation results.

- Conversion possibility of the DICOM images into a more adequate format for their revision and Web management.

- Image transfer, through http, to MIO Viewer™ or to the selected viewer or information system.
Even though MIO WADO™ is totally compatible with the Flash MIO Viewer™, it can also be integrated with third-party Web image viewers, including specific radiology or medical image viewers.
